Before I saw this steamer, I placed on order for the much more expensive $130 Dr. Gross Steamer. Seeing that a steamer is a steamer, not sure what I'd get for $130 that I don't get with this.
As a middle aged women with large pores and adult acne and aging (trifecta!), my skin can be a mess and personally, I don't want to spend a fortune on facials. I have incorporated this machine in to a regimin that works for my skin:
My At Home Facial:
- Cleanse with a cleanser - I use a Skin Medica AHA/BHA exfoliating version that I apply with a Clarisonic brush .
-Steam with this machine for five minutes or less, using a towel over my head to capture steam. I have not used the warm towel feature yet because this works well enough for me with just steam.
-Pimple extractions (I know, I know, everyone says to let estheticians do this, but I do my own and have been fine). Steaming is a must for easier extractions.
-Mask application (I don't always do this), but when I do, I use an acne clearing mask.
-Rinse (and tone, if you prefer)
-Serum/lotion application
Without the mask application I can do this within 30 minutes, and have noticed that while my pores will always be the size they are, they are not clogged, and my face looks much better.
This is such a great steamer!
